Terry David Bryson, III, 58, formerly of Tuscumbia, passed away March 10, 2017. Visitation will be held today from 2 to 3 p.m. at the Tuscumbia First United Methodist Church. The funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. with Rev. Rudy Guess and Ken Corson officiating. Burial will be in Sheffield Oakwood Cemetery.
David was a graduate of the University of North Alabama and Emory University where he received his Master’s of Divinity. He was ordained in the North Alabama Conference of the United Methodist Church where he served for 15 years in pastoral ministry. Subsequently, he worked with SIFAT and with mission initiatives in Bolivia, Ecuador, Venezuela and Mexico. His life’s work of service and ministry has touched the lives of people in countries throughout Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean. We celebrate the difference his willingness to step out in faith in non-traditional ministry has made in the lives of others. We are especially blessed that he was such an example of unconditional love and dedication to his family, and know his legacy will live on through his children.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Terry David “Ted” and Betty Jane Flippen Bryson; and sister, Mary Ann Smith. He is survived by his loving wife, Kathy Corson Bryson; children, Brianna, Jennessa, Luci and Evie; brother, Jonathan; and sister, Leah Beth Mason.
