Mr. Terris Winn, Jr. Terris Winn, Jr., was born on August 15, 1954, to the late Terris Winn, Sr. and Lucile Langham Winn in Gurley, AL. He made his peaceful, heavenly transition on October 20, 2023, at 2 pm.

He graduated from Madison County High School in 1972. He was also a graduate of Athens State University where he received a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.

He proudly served in the United States Navy. After his service, he began his career at Redstone Arsenal. He worked faithfully until his retirement.

He was united in holy matrimony to Temmie Derrick. Their union was blessed with three children.

Terris loved God, his family music, and service. He was loved by many. He served as a mentor and friend to many people over the years. He was an anointed teacher of the Word. He encouraged many to give their lives to the Lord. He could always be counted on for a smile, a funny story, a word of wisdom, or an act of kindness.

He was preceded in death by his father, Terris Winn, Sr.; mother, Lucile Winn; and sister, Ethel Stallworth.

He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Temmie Winn; three children, Tracie Bailey (Idowu), Tiffany Winn, and Todd Winn all of Huntsville, AL; three beloved grandchildren, Temitoro, Samuel, and Noelle; one sister, Catherine Tarrant (Eddie) of Panama City, FL; one brother in law, Jeff Steger of Gurley, AL, one god daughter, Shere’ Hurst; one god granddaughter Reagan Lockett; and a host of cousins and long time devoted friends.

Graveside service will be 12:00 noon, Friday, October 27, 2023, at the Valhalla Memory Gardens (698 Winchester Road NE, Huntsville, AL 35811).

Public viewing will be held from 12:00 noon until 6:00 p.m., Thursday, October 26, 2023, and 8:30 until 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 27, 2023, at the Royal Funeral Home.
