Teresia Sue Parker ComptonTeresia Sue Parker Compton was born January 9, 1951 in Arab, Alabama and went to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 18, 2024 at her home while surrounded by her family. Her parents were Jack W. and Mary Sue Terrell Parker. Teresia was 73 years old. She was married to her husband, Vick W. Compton, for 50 years. She was a member of Pine Ridge Baptist Church.
Teresia taught school in Morgan County for 37 years, first at West Morgan, then Cotaco, and finally at Brewer High School. While at Brewer, Mrs. Compton sponsored the Jr./Sr. Prom , the National Honor Society and the dance team. Teresia was an excellent seamstress and a good cook. She took care of her family and loved all her nieces and nephews. She loved flowers and music and had a beautiful voice. She loved to shop and to travel and after her retirement Teresia and Vick spent many vacations in various locations, including Alaska and Hawaii. She was an avid reader who enjoyed Shakespeare and all forms of literature.
Teresia is survived by a loving and supportive family including her husband, Vick W. Compton; brothers, Jack Terrell Parker (Barbara) of Orange Co, California, Tommy Parker (Sandra) of Baileyton, Alabama, and Tim Parker (Donna)of Union Grove, Alabama; sister, Tenley Parker Espinosa (Chris) of Lewiston, Idaho; many nieces, nephews, extended family members; special caregiver, Debra Hunkeapillar; and many friends.
Teresia was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Sue Terrell Parker and father, Jack W. Parker.
Teresia’s family will greet friends and guest at a visitation on Thursday, August 22, 2024 at Pine Ridge Baptist Church between the hours of 2:00 until 4:00. Funeral services, to be officiated by Brother Eldridge Crisco and Brother Bryan Mosley, will immediately follow at 4:00. Pallbearers escorting Teresia to her final resting place in the Pine Ridge Cemetery will be Joel Willingham, Austin Parker, Steve Edmondson, Eddie Mooneyham, Mickey Slate and Shannon Parker.
In lieu of flowers the family encourages donations be made to either the Brindlee Mountain Fire Department or to Pine Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, both which were dear to Teresia .
