Teresa “TC” Marie Jordan died in her home on Friday, January 24, 2025. She was born December 6, 1954 in San Mateo County, CA to John “Jack” Bernard Schibi and Catherine “Louise” Innis. The nickname Teresa was given by her family was TC, which she used throughout her life.
Teresa was preceded in death by her parents, Catherine Louise and John Bernard Schibi; brother, Walter “Mike” Michael Schibi; and sister, Rosemarie Murfin.
She is survived by her daughter, Katherine Massey of Owens Cross Roads, AL; sisters, Mary Madeline Hardt of Manvel, TX and Maureen Ann Kopf of Maidens, VA; brother, Patrick Joseph Schibi of Jonesborough, TN; and grandsons: Richard Bradshaw, IV of Huntsville, AL, Evan Tate, Easton and Rory Massey of Owens Cross Roads, AL.
Teresa was a devoted sister, mother, grandmother, and dedicated nurse. She graduated from Enid High School (OK) in 1973. She participated in the high school chorus and the Bible class.
Teresa always wanted to become a registered nurse, following in her parents’ and sister’s footsteps. (Her mother, Catherine,was a medical technologist; her father, John, served as a pharmacist’s mate in the Navy during World War II, and sister Maureen became a registered nurse.) She studied nursing at Southwestern Oklahoma State University, Central State University (OK), McNeese State University (LA), and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Trenton State University (NJ) in 1981. After passing the Alaska State Nursing Board examination, she served as a Red Cross volunteer at Fort Greely, AK, from 1981 through 1983.
Teresa married Kenneth Howard Jordan on June 1, 1975 in Enid, OK and they had Katherine Ann in 1982 in Fairbanks, AK. After moving to Huntsville in 1985, Teresa worked as a registered nurse in home health care, also at Humana Hospital and Huntsville Hospital in Oncology, Orthopedics and Cardiac until she retired in January 2018.
Her patients and their families appreciated her nursing care in their homes and hospitals. She will be deeply missed by her family and medical colleagues.
