Teresa Nell Reatherford Folger was born September 15, 1958 in Wayne County, TN to the union of the late Thomas Earl and Clara Nell Haddock Reatherford. Teresa was united in marriage to Douglas Folger on November 24, 1977. She was a person with a servants heart, working as a nurse in private duty nursing for many years. She proudly served as the program director at Buffalo River Services for many years. When she was not working, she enjoyed spending time gardening. She truly had a green thumb and was able to make anything grow! When the garden came in, she spent a lot of time canning, especially green beans. Mrs. Teresa loved to cook and especially loved to spend time with her family. She departed this life suddenly on July 2, 2024 in Columbia, TN making her stay in this life some 65 years, 9 months, and 18 days.
Those left behind to cherish her memory include her daughter, Tammy Tipps of Waynesboro, TN; daughter of the heart, Melinda Dugger (Randle) of Clifton, TN; two brothers, Danny Reatherford of Savannah, TN; James T. “Terry” Reatherford of Ypsilanti, MI; one granddaughter, Kileyan Shanell Tipps and two grandchildren of the heart, Ragan Dugger and Braden Coker.
In addition to her parents and husband of 46 years, she was preceded in death by her son, Shaun Folger.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 5, 2024 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and again on Saturday, July 6, 2024 from 11:00 AM until service time at 2:00 PM all at Bates-Love Funeral and Cremation Chapel.
Funeral Services will begin at 2:00 PM on Saturday, July 6, 2024 at Bates-Love Funeral and Cremation Chapel with Kent Collier and Bryan Reatherford officiating. Following the funeral service, she will be laid to rest with her husband and son in Waynesboro Memorial Gardens.
