Mrs. Teresa Mae Jones Simmons, 58, died at her residence, Wednesday, July 13, 2016. She was born December 11, 1956, in Pontotoc County, MS, to Thelton Jones and Laney Dewdrop Lindsey Jones. She married Bobby Ray Simmons on May 30, 1998 at Gilvo Church. She spent most of her adult life in Lee County aned worked 23 years in retail sales before becoming disabled in 2012.
Teresa was a housewife and long-time member of West Jackson Street Baptist Church, presently at Calvary Baptist Church in Fulton. She was a social butterfly, loved being around friends and family, enjoyed singing, riding motorcycles, traveling to the mountains, especially Branson and the Smokies.
A celebration of life service will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 16, 2016 in the Tupelo Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors. A private family graveside service will follow in Tupelo Memorial Park. Visitation will be today (Friday) from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to service time. Holland Funeral Directors is honored to assist the family.
Survivors include her husband, Bobby Simmons of Mooreville; daughter, Camille Robert Dulaney (Lee Co. Circuit Clerk); son, Jeffrey “Jeff” Carl Roberts of Skyline; two sisters, Pat Purvis and Kay Thomas (Bugs), all of Mantachie; four grandchildren, Hunter, Halle, Emmalee, and Macie; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Timothy Jones, Owen Jones, and Jimmy Jones.
