Teresa Gail Corbett – Obituary

Teresa Gail Corbett, 61, passed away Thursday, August 3, 2017, at Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth. She was born in Okalona on November 13, 1955, to Dan and Adelia Wise Herndon. She graduated from Shannon High School in the class of 1973. Teresa worked as a secretary most of her working life, and for the past five years she worked at First Care Medical Clinic in Baldwyn for a nurse practitioner, Jenny Barnes. She liked taking trips with family to the beach. Teresa was a member of First Christian Church, Baldwyn for a number of years. She loved her children and grandchildren and was very involved in going to their sporting events and extracurricular activities.

 

Survivors include her father, Dan Herndon (Jean) of Shannon; daughters, Brooke Gonzalez (Gilberto) and Blair Corbett both of Saltillo; granddaughters, Baylee Arnold and Georgia Blair Nanney of Saltillo; brother, Ronald Herndon of Shannon and aunt, Nita Patterson (Guy) of Blue Springs.

 

She was preceded in death by her mother and infant brother.

 

Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Monday, August 7, 2017, at W. E. Pegues, Tupelo.

 

Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 8, 2017, at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Joe Caraway officiating. Graveside services will follow in Shannon Cemetery.

 

Pallbearers will be Ronald Herndon, Gilberto Gonzalez, Don Westmoreland, Phillip Dawe, Larry Rowan and Ricky Herndon.

 

The family would like to give a special thank you to the fifth floor nursing staff of Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth and especially Morganna Cagle Fisher.
