Teresa Ann “GramGram” Owens, a devoted woman of faith and beloved matriarch, passed away on September 15, 2025 in Decatur, Alabama. She was 65 years old.
She was born September 10, 1960, In Decatur, Teresa spent her entire life rooted in the community that shaped her. Her unwavering devotion to her faith was a cornerstone of her life. A deeply Christian woman, she attended church faithfully throughout her life and never missed an opportunity to praise her Lord, Jesus. Whether gathered around the table or facing life’s challenges, Teresa always paused to pray before each meal-a reflection of the gratitude and reverence that guided her daily walk with God.
Teresa was the cherished daughter of Kendall and Martha Sivley, who preceded her in death. She is lovingly remembered by her siblings Keith Silvey (Susanna) and Donna Underwood; her daughters, Amanda Richards (Andrew) and Jessica Borden (Jason); and her grandchildren, Marlee Borden (Zander) and Kaleen Richards (Elijah). Her legacy continues through her great-granddaughter, Lorelei Billings. Teresa also leaves behind four nephews and six nieces who will remember her with affection.
To those who knew “GramGram”, Teresa was more than a name- she was a source of warmth, wisdom, and unconditional love. Her presence brought comfort and strength to generations of family members who looked to her for guidance and support.
A funeral service celebrating Teresa’s life will be held at Shelton Funeral Home in Decatur, Alabama. The date and time will be 9/22/25 between 2pm-4pm.
