Tennessee Woman Dies After Head-On-Collison Near St. Florian

ST FLORIAN-The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports a two-vehicle accident near St. Florian has taken the life of one person and sent another to hospital with injuries:

“A two-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 12:01 p.m. Sunday, March 1, has claimed the life of a Nashville, Tennessee woman.

Daria A. Smith, 33, was fatally injured when the 2015 Nissan Rogue she was driving collided head-on with the 2018 Jeep Wrangler driven by David T. Martin, 52, of Lexington. Smith was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Martin was injured and transported to North Alabama Medical Center in Florence for treatment.

The crash occurred on Lauderdale County 47 near Lauderdale County 63, approximately four miles northeast of St. Florian, in Lauderdale County.

Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.”
