Tennessee Man Dies Near Hazel Green After Being Struck By Vehicle

HAZEL GREEN-The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports a two-vehicle accident involving a pedestrian has taken the life of one person:

“A two-vehicle crash involving a pedestrian that occurred at approximately 7:50 p.m. Friday, October 31, has claimed the life of a Fayetteville, Tennessee, man.

The pedestrian, Jeremy M. Cantrell, 50, who was outside of his vehicle, a 2015 Toyota Tundra, was fatally injured after being struck by the 2013 Chevrolet Camaro driven by Brittany L. Whittle, 40, of New Market. Initially, the Camaro struck the Tundra and then struck Cantrell. Cantrell was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The crash occurred on U.S. 231 near the 348 mile marker, approximately two miles north of Hazel Green, in Madison County.

Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.”
