Teen Dies From Injuries Received In Head-On Collision Involving A Motorcycle

FLORENCE-The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports a head-on-collision accident involving a motorcycle has taken the life of an 18-year-old near Florence:

“A single-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 2:05 p.m. Thursday, May 15, has claimed the life of a Juvenile.

An 18-year-old was critically injured when the 2009 Honda CRF230M motorcycle he was operating collided head-on with a 2006 Chevrolet Colorado driven by Michael W. Ghrigsby, 60, of Florence. The 18-year-old was transported to an area hospital for treatment, where the teen later succumbed to injuries and was pronounced deceased.

The crash occurred on Rasch Road near Augusta Street, approximately one mile west of Florence, in Lauderdale County.

Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.”
