Mrs. Teddy “Lynn” Varnell Kemp, age 58, passed away Thursday, June 1, 2023 at her residence. Lynn was born in Lauderdale County, Alabama on July 28, 1964. Her parents were Ted Allen Varnell and Faye Elaine Hyde Varnell. She and husband, Billy Dean Kemp, Jr. was married for twenty-nine years. Lynn was a devoted Christian and was of the Baptist faith. She has been a resident of the Arab community since 2006. Lynn was an independent caregiver and was proud to serve the community for many years in that capacity. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and sister and friend. She was a lover of music, the outdoors, a good country recipe and was fond of grilled hamburgers and pork chops.
Family left behind to cherish memories of Lynn are: her husband, Billy Kemp; children, Coty Hughes (Heather), Leslie Williams (Maribeth), and Summer Speegle (Kyle); grandchildren, Victoria Hughes, Kylee Butler and Riverlyn Speegle; sister, Sharee Kelley (Buddy); and special nieces, Gracie Kelley and Nikki Lamb.
Preceding Lynn in death were: her parents, Ted and Faye Varnell; sisters, Gwen Young, Kathy Spicher and Jackie Brammer.
Visitation and funeral service will be on Monday, June 5, 2023 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel in Arab, Alabama. Visitation will be 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. and the funeral service will immediately follow at 2:00. Interment will be in the Union Grove Cemetery in Morgan County, Alabama. Brother Jamey Pruett will be officiating.
Pallbearers escorting Lynn to her final resting place in Union Grove Cemetery will be Rudy Varnell, Padro Varnell, Michael Varnell, Randy Brammer, Kenny Fossett and Eric Speegle.
Arrangements entrusted to Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel
