Teary Wayne Hataway, affectionately known as T-bone, 38, of Ashland, AL, born in Enterprise,
AL, and a former resident of Daleville, AL, passed away suddenly on November 8, 2025, at Clay
County Hospital, in Ashland, AL. He is known for his boundless kindness and generous heart.
Teary was the kind of man who would give the shirt off his back to someone in need. He had a
gift for storytelling and a laid-back spirit that made everyone around him feel at ease. He was a
loving husband, son, brother, uncle, nephew, and friend. His presence brought warmth and
laughter to those who knew him, and his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of his
family and friends.
Teary is survived by his beloved wife, Bridget Croy of Ashland, AL; his mother, Shelia (Bo)
Thornton of Jesup, GA.; his father, Dwyatte Hataway of Ashland, AL; his four siblings, Tracie
(John) Dunn, Hannah (Steve) White of Ozark, AL, Rebekka Hataway of Enterprise, AL., and
Jason Cole of Opp, AL. He leaves behind his nephew Trenton Rogers and two nieces, Joanna
Cole and Zoey Cole; His maternal grandmother, Betty Barnes of Jessup, GA., and his paternal
grandmother Willie Ruth Hataway of Daleville, AL; several aunts, uncles, and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by Thomas Clarence Barnes Jr. (grandfather), George Lavell Hataway
(grandfather), Dearik Barnes (uncle), Danny Ray Hataway (uncle), and Anita Fulford (Aunt).
A celebration of life is scheduled for Saturday, December 13th, at The Church of Samson, 2596,
AL-87, Samson, AL, at 2:00 pm.
