Tammy Priest, age 61, of New Albany, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 14, 2026.
A memorial service celebrating Tammy’s life will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. in the Memory Chapel of New Albany Funerals & Cremations, with visitation beginning at 12:00 noon.
Born on August 5, 1964, Tammy spent most of her life working in factories and was known for her strong work ethic. She spent the last five years of her career at Toyota Motor Manufacturing in Blue Springs, Mississippi, where she was a dependable and valued employee.
Tammy enjoyed life’s simple pleasures. She loved animals, flowers, reading good books, watching cop shows, and searching for hidden treasures at thrift stores. Her gentle spirit, caring heart, and quiet kindness touched the lives of everyone who knew her.
Above all, Tammy cherished her family. She was married to the love of her life, Walter “Bud” Priest, for 36 wonderful years. Their marriage was a beautiful testimony of love, faithfulness, and devotion.
She is survived by her loving husband, Walter “Bud” Priest; her daughter, Brittany Ann Priest; her son, Stewart James Priest; six beloved grandchildren; three sisters, Hope Gray (Steven) of New Albany, Mississippi, Sarah Bailey (Tray) of Alabama, and Jena Young (Kenny) of New Albany, Mississippi; one brother, Michael Mitchell of Blue Springs, Mississippi; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will miss her deeply.
Tammy will be remembered for her quiet strength, compassionate heart, and the love she freely shared with others. Though she will be greatly missed, her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know and love her.
