Talk about one bad decision after another… Robbery Suspect allegedly steals pickup truck before getting arrested

Joshua Alexander Mardis – Arrested

FLORENCE POLICE –  Texaco Robbery Suspect Arrested in Stolen Truck: Joshua Alexander Mardis, 21, of Florence was arrested shortly after midnight after a foot pursuit with officers in West Florence. Ofc. Jason Fort attempted a traffic stop on Mardis on suspicion of DUI. Mardis is accused of fleeing from the truck as officers gave chase. A short time later he was apprehended and it was found that the truck he was driving was stolen from Downtown Florence. He was arrested and charged with DUI and Theft of Property 1st. Mardis was arrested in May and charged with Robbery 1st in connection with an armed robbery at Texaco Gas Station on Royal Ave. He is currently being held in the Lauderdale County Detention Center.
