T.W. Lewis, 92, of Decatur passed away Saturday, Jan. 27,2018. He was born on Sept. 6, 1925.
Mr. Lewis was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church. In his early years he was a champion drag car racer and in the later years he won awards for restoring and showing antique cars, including the Point Mallard Best of Show Award. He worked hard as a brick mason to provide for his family.
He was preceded in death by his first wife of 30 years, Christine Lewis; second wife of 12 years, Sue Alexander Lewis; and eight siblings.
Survivors include two sons, Larry Lewis (Stefania), of Decatur and Mike Lewis (Brenda Thomas), of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida; grandchildren, Lori Mees, of Charlotte, North Carolina, Ben Lewis, of Manhattan Beach, California, Natalie Ashford and Emily Cork, both of Decatur; great-grandchildren, Tommy Mees, Will Mees, Allison Mees, Peyton Lewis, Hudson Lewis, Addison Cork, Ella Cork, Jackson Ashford, and Lily Ashford; brother, Samuel Lewis; and sister, Joyce Lewis.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Slaton, Tony Lewis, Gary Lovell, Jimmy Phillips, Robbie Terry, and Nick Bound.
Visitation will be Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2018, at Roselawn Funeral Home from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. A celebration of life will be at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Brother Sammy Evans officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery.
