Sylvia Sidney Savage Hollingsworth realized the promises of her profession of faith in Jesus Christ and received her heavenly reward from her Tupelo residence on Saturday, October 4, 2025. Surrounded by her family, she died peacefully after a 20 years of struggling with cancer. Her faith, resilience and tolerance was a shingBorn in Wesbster Co., Eupora, Ms. on December 10, 1941 to the late Jack Savage and Sylvia Levey Savage, she enjoyed a great childhood growing up there. Sylvia graduated from Eupora High School in 1959 with scholastic honors. She attended Delta State University and married her husband of 59 years, Jerry D. Hollingsworth on January 8, 1966. Jerry was a career executive with South Central Bell (Bell South) Telephone Company in his career. The couple lived in several locations in Mississippi including Jackson, Greenville, the Coast before moving to Tupelo in 1933.
