Sylvia Rigsby Lay, 81, of Jasper, passed away Thursday, September 17, 2020, at her residence. Graveside service will be held Saturday, September 19, 2020, at 2 p.m., at Mt. Zion Baptist Cemetery on Fall City Road, with Kilgore-Green Funeral Home directing. Greg Tinker will officiate. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Wanda Gail Lay; granddaughter, Lauren Abbott; parents, Al and Luria Rigsby; sisters, Betty Robbins and Sally Crocker; brothers, Curt Rigsby, Donald Rigsby, Joe Rigsby, Paul Rigsby, McArthur Rigsby; grandparents, Sam and Frances Rigsby and Henry and Lillie Hardin; Mother and Father-in-law, Rufus and Agnes Lay; brothers-in-law, Glenn Lay, Jack Robbins and Gary Crocker; sisters-in-law, Betty Pesnell, Peggy Box, Vaughn Rigsby and Betty Jo Rigsby. She is survived by her husband, Kenneth A. Lay; daughter, Rhonda Lay Abbott; son, Kenny R. Lay; granddaughters, Julie Abbott and Sally Watts (Phillip); grandson, Dalton Lay; great granddaughters, Alivia Abbott, Ella Watts, Scarlet Abbott and Presley Perdock; great grandsons; Julian Poe, Freddie Poe and Cohen Watts; sister, Patsy Stricklin (Jerry); brothers, J.L. Rigsby (Janis), Jake Rigsby (Peggy), Wendell Rigsby (Martha) and Harold David Rigsby (Johnnie); sisters-in-law, Shirley Rose Rigsby, Shirley Lee Rigsby, Laura Rigsby and Carolyn Lay and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
