Syble Howell Morgan took her heavenly flight home to be with the Lord on August 16, 2020 at the age of 93. She was born on January 1, 1927 on her father’s birthday which made her so very proud. She was born in Lawrence County, Alabama where she lived her whole life. She was the daughter of William A. McVay Howell and Addie Crow Howell.
Mrs. Morgan enjoyed reading her Bible, working in her flowers and preserving her family history. She loved to be in nature and always considered herself an “outside person”. She dearly loved her family. In her last years she wanted to go see her family that had gone on. She constantly said that she could not believe she was the last one left of the Howell family and she missed them all so much. We know she is rejoicing to be with them once again.
Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, Hagon O. Morgan, her brothers: Horace Howell (Eunice), Wm. Franklin Howell (Arlene), Buford Howell (Dorothy), Winford Howell (Jean), and Hewlet Crow, her sisters: Myrtle Howell and Josephine Dutton (Obed), and her son, Gordon Morgan (Wanda).
She is survived by two daughters, Sherry Horton (Jerry) and Yolanda Smith (Don), 7 grandchildren: Diona Fowler (DeWayne), Shannon Horton (Angie), Curt Smith, Bridget Horton, Kristi Martin (Jim), Joshua Horton (Krista), and Chase Morgan and 13 great grandchildren.
The service will be private with interment in Bald Knob Cemetery in Lawrence County, Alabama with Parkway Funeral Home directing.
Pall Bearers are Shannon Horton, Joshua Horton, Curt Smith, Wyatt Smith, Walker Smith, and Chase Morgan. Honorary Pallbearers are Jeremiah McDonald, Landon Horton, Jayden Horton and Elijah Horton.
We would like to express our appreciation to the staff at NHC Healthcare in Moulton, Alabama for their compassionate care during these last few years. They were able to love on her when we could not be there because of the quarantine. We will forever be grateful!!
