Swampers 5K & 1 Mile Run – Lace Up for a Community Tradition

MUSCLE SHOALS–The Muscle Shoals community is invited to lace up their running shoes for the
20th Annual Swampers 5K & 1 Mile Run/Walk on Saturday, April 27th, 2024, at Muscle Shoals Middle
School. This year marks two decades of promoting family fitness and community engagement through
this cherished event.

 Date: Saturday, April 27, 2024
 Time: 5K starts at 8:00 AM; 1 Mile Run/Walk follows at 9:05 AM
 Location: Muscle Shoals Middle School, Muscle Shoals, AL

“We created this event 20 years ago to get families out to exercise together, and it has been great
seeing so many kids and families out running together,” said Josh Aycock, event organizer. “The 5K
course is flat and fast, designed to be open for one hour, and followed by a 1 Mile Run/Walk that’s
perfect for all ages and fitness levels.”

Registration and Fees:
 Early Registration Fee: $25 until April 22nd
 Registration: Available online at Swampers 5K Registration
Participants will receive a commemorative Swampers run t-shirt, and all 5K finishers, as well as children
aged 12 and under participating in the 1 Mile, will be awarded finishers medals.

This milestone event will also feature a team competition, school competition, and plaques for age
group winners, adding a competitive edge for those looking to challenge themselves or their group.

This year, all proceeds will be generously donated to the Shoals Civic League. Join us as we celebrate 20
years of fitness, fun, and family at the Swampers 5K & 1 Mile Run/Walk. We’re excited to continue this

anniversary event!
