DECATUR-The Decatur Police Department issued a statement concerning a domestic call received from Neches Court SW in Decatur. After a long standoff with Decatur Police and Decatur SWAT the man was found dead inside the home:
DECATUR-The Decatur Police Department issued a statement concerning a domestic call received from Neches Court SW in Decatur. After a long standoff with Decatur Police and Decatur SWAT the man was found dead inside the home:“On December 3, 2021, at approximately 8:15 a.m., officers with the Decatur Police Department responded to a home in the 3700-block of Neches Ct. SW in reference to a domestic call.
Officers made contact with the homeowner who stated her ex-husband had broke into the home and held her against her will before she was able to escape.
Decatur PD’s Crisis Negotiation Unit and special operations team were called to the scene to assess the situation and make contact with the suspect after he barricaded himself inside the home. After hours of negotiations, the suspect refused to comply.
It was later discovered a fire had been set in the home and the suspect was found inside deceased.
The case remains under investigation. More information will be released as it becomes available.”
