MADISON COUNTY-Madison County Sheriff Blake Dorning issued a statement today regarding the arrest of a suspect on January 25, 2017 who has been charged with sexual abuse of a child under the age of 12. The sheriff is also asking anyone who may feel there was unauthorized or inappropriate contact by the suspect, Jerry Walter Jenkins to contact the Madison County Sheriff’s Office at 256.533.8844:
“Sheriff Blake Dorning announced today that Jerry Walter Jenkins, white male, born 6-21-54, was arrested on January 25, 2017 for four counts of sex abuse of a child under the age of 12 and two counts of sodomy if the first degree. Bond is set at $240,000. If anyone feels that there was inappropriate or unauthorized contact with Mr. Jenkins in the area of Mooresmill and Kennette Circle we are asking them to contact the Madison County Sheriff’s Office at (256) 533-8820 or Investigator Nash at (256) 533-8844. The investigation is ongoing. The Sheriff’s Office is in the process of investigating additional charges of Child Pornography and Production of Child Pornography.
Jerry Walter Jenkins was arrested on probable cause by the Madison County Sheriff’s Office and is presumed innocent until determined otherwise by the judicial system.”
