Suspect Charge With Theft Of Property 1st After Arrest By Florence Police

FLORENCE-The Florence Police Department issued a statement on the arrst of a suspect who was charged with several charges including theft of proerty 1st on MOnday, August 19:

“On 08/18/2019 at approximately 0200, the Florence Police Department responded to a burglary in progress call at Longshore Cycle Center (913 Mitchell Blvd.). Roosevelt Casey (B/M, 05/26/1990), a resident of Atlanta, GA, had forcibly entered the fenced area used to store ATV’s. Mr. Casey was actively loading ATV’s into a box truck, which was also reported stolen from Dalton, GA. When confronted by patrol officers, Mr. Casey attempted to flee on foot but was apprehended by officers stationed on the perimeter. Mr. Casey was charged with the following:

Theft of Property 1st Degree – 4 counts

Receiving Stolen Property 1st Degree

Possession of Burglar’s Tools

Criminal Trespass 2nd Degree

Fleeing or Attempting to Elude Law Enforcement Officer”
