FLORENCE-The Florence Police Department issued a statement concerning the arrest of a suspect on Wednesday, June 13 on 13counts of Possession of Forged Instruments:
“Tammy M Cooper was arrested after detectives conducted an investigation following a report that was received from Florence Frozen Meats on 5/14/18. They reported that Ms Cooper entered the business and wrote several check over a two week period. The investigation determined that she knew the check would not clear the bank but made purchases with them. Warrants were issued for her arrest. Ms Cooper is still currently in the Lauderdale County Detention Center on a $22,000.00 bond.
Another detail that came out in this case. The checks were forged from her son’s account. We also discovered multiple retail locations that accepted them.”
