Suspect Arrested in Connection with Shooting Incident in Triana

MADISON COUNTY-On October 21, 2024, at approximately 8:00 p.m., the Madison County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) received multiple 911 calls reporting gunfire in the 100 block of Murphy Lane, Triana, AL. Upon arrival, deputies located a male individual lying near the roadway. Numerous agencies responded to the scene, including the Madison County Sheriff’s Office, Huntsville Police Department (HPD), and Huntsville Emergency Medical Services (HEMSI).

The victim has been identified as 37-year-old Trayvon Deshawn Harris. He was transported to Huntsville Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. In response to the incident, Madison County Sheriff Major Crimes detectives and Crime Scene personnel were dispatched to the scene. Sheriff’s detectives processed the scene, conducted interviews, and gathered evidence. The victim’s body was sent to the Alabama Department of Forensic Science (ADFS) for an autopsy.
As a result of this investigation, Martavious J. Williams, 28, has been charged with capital murder. Williams was already incarcerated at the Madison County Detention Facility, where he was already being held on a prior felony charge of Assault in the First Degree by the Huntsville Police Department.
The investigation remains active, with detectives actively seeking further leads. At this time, no additional information can be disclosed.
