FLORENCE-The Florence Police Department issued a statement concerning a stabbing that took place on Thursday, August 30:
“On 8-30-18 at 5:30 pm officers with the Florence Police Department responded to a stabbing that occurred in Hearn Trailer Park in Florence.
Two male subject were involved in an altercation in front of Julio Canelas residence. The victim, Oscar Tellez, stated during the altercation Mr. Canelas pulled a knife and stabbed him. The two subject then returned to their residence prior to the police arriving.
Mr. Tellez was taken to Huntsville Hospital for treatment, we have been told that he has non-life threatening injuries.
Mr. Canelas was interviewed by detectives and charged with Assault 2nd. Mr. Canelas is in the Lauderdale County Detention Center on a $5,000.00 bond.”
