Susie Willodean Owens Hayes, age 85, passed away Jan. 30, 2017. Visitation will be today from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Spry-Williams Funeral Home. The funeral will follow at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Brother Doug Farris officiating. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Hayes was an avid gardener loving to share with family and friends and selling her produce at the Farmer’s Market. She loved to can, and she quilted for herself and others. She was proud of her family and loved people.
Mrs. Hayes was preceded in death by her husbands, Warren Edsel Pickens and Thomas J. Hayes, and granddaughter, Regina Russell.
She is survived by her children, James H. Pickens (Dessie) and Wanda E. Robinson (Bernie Michael); grandchildren, Reggie Pickens, Jared Swinea, and Cassie Foster; great-grandchildren, Brooke Howard, Amber Russell, Gavin Pickens, Murron Pickens, and Ryman Renault; great-great-grandchildren, Jayden Howard and Kendal Russell; and siblings, Idell Peters, Marie Owens, Robbie Zahnd, Mary Jean Peden, Susie Pearl Fogleman, and Reba Peden.
