A private graveside service for Susie H. Edwards, 99, of Decatur will be held in Devaney Cemetery in Russellville at a later date with the Reverend J.D. Thorne officiating and Ridout’s Brown-Service Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Edwards, who died Friday, November 21, 2014, at Albertville Nursing Home, was born March 7, 1915, in Russellville to Dr. William Porter Hughes and Willie Mae Hurst Hughes. She was a member of Grant Street Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.T. Edwards.
Survivors include three sons, John T. “Tommy” Edwards III, William H. “Bill” Edwards and James H. “Jim” Edwards; two daughters, Sue E. Donilon and Ann E. Thorne; seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
