Susanne Teuber – Obituary

Mrs. Susanne Teuber passed peacefully September 13th, 2017. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Dr. Dieter Teuber and their children, Hans Teuber (Heidi), Marianne Decher (Pete), Andy Teuber and Tom Teuber. She is also survived by their 8 grandchildren; Jennifer, Leah, Julie, Ben, Melissa, Andrea, Anthony and Teresa and 8 great-grandchildren; Anne Marie, Alayna, Thomas, Evy, Sola, Catherine, Ian and Claire. Susanne was preceded in death by their eldest son, Chris Teuber.

 

She was born in Germany and grew up there during World War II. She then moved to the United States with her family in 1953 and married Dieter in 1956. They had 5 children. She then earned her BA in Foreign Languages in 1974 from UAH. She went on to teach at numerous schools at the high school and college levels.

 

An avid gardener, she cultivated a large greenhouse full of beautiful flowers. She propagated amazing Amaryllis and other wonderful plants. With multiple hobbies including knitting and crocheting, fine porcelain and antique collecting, she was always busy and full of life. Susi was a published author, later in life, in 2 languages and 2 countries. She was a member of the Monte Sano Swim Club, where she swam more miles than most fish!

 

Visitation will be Thursday, September 21st, from 6pm to 8pm at Laughlin Funeral Home at 2320 Bob Wallace Ave.

 

The Funeral Mass will be held at 12:00 PM, September 22nd, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church at 625 Airport Road. Following Mass, we will proceed to Maple Hill Cemetery. Following the graveside service, we will return to the Holy Spirit Catholic Church Parish Life Center for a reception
