TUSCUMBIA-Susan Rowe, of Flori Designs in Florence, will share secrets and successes in flower arranging during a special luncheon program and demonstration at Belle Mont Mansion on Wednesday, March 27. Beginning at 11:30 a.m., guests will have the opportunity to browse through the circa 1828 home, viewing Susan’s beautiful floral arrangements placed among the period furnishings of the museum. Luncheon and the floral demonstration will follow.
Departing from the more formal arrangements often favored by florists, Rowe prefers a natural display. Her style is best described as symbiotic, meaning it holds a relationship with the surroundings. Relying upon flowers available in the garden, her flowing arrangements and techniques for creating them may be replicated at home by those who attend the demonstration.
Susan and her husband, Abraham Rowe, are the husband-and-wife team, well-known for their artistry in wedding photography. In 2018, recognizing the extra dimension she could bring to their business by providing beautiful flowers and arrangements, she launched Flori. Recently their combined talents were utilized to produce a pictorial book.

Advance registration is required. Cost is $30, which includes the floral demonstration and a catered boxed meal served among flowers on the courtyard at Belle Mont. Also included will be a tour of the historic home and a chance for floral door prizes donated by Flori Designs. Proceeds benefit Belle Mont, which is owned by the Alabama Historic Commission and operated by a local non-profit foundation dedicated to its preservation.
