Susan Keene Profile Photo Susan Keene, a beloved member of the Columbia, Tennessee community, passed away peacefully on February 22, 2024, at LifeCare Center, surrounded by her loving family. Born on April 7, 1958, in Columbia, Tennessee, Susan was the cherished daughter of the late Kenneth Beard and Myrna Powers Beard.

Susan’s life was filled with simple joys and heartfelt passions. She had a profound love for cats, finding solace and companionship in their gentle presence. An avid gardener, Susan found immense joy in planting flowers, nurturing them to bloom with vibrant colors and fragrances that brought beauty to her surroundings.

In her leisure time, Susan indulged in the pleasure of solving puzzles and immersing herself in the world of computer games. Her enthusiasm for sports was evident in her unwavering support for the University of Tennessee Volunteers and the Tennessee Titans football team, where she cheered them on with great fervor.

A lover of all things spooky, Susan delighted in watching scary movies and celebrating Halloween. She found immense joy in passing out candy to the neighborhood children, reveling in their excitement and laughter.

Susan will be deeply missed by her daughter, Tabitha Keene (Kevin Toporzycki);  her siblings: Sammy Beard (Patricia), Kim Beard, Steven Beard, and Chandler Beard (Felicia), along with several nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart.

Susan was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth Beard and Myrna Powers Beard, and her sister-in-law, April Brady Beard.

A memorial service to celebrate Susan’s life will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at 4:00 PM at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia, Tennessee. Her brothers, Sammy and Steven, will share cherished memories and reflections during the service. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until the start of the service at Williams Funeral Home, providing an opportunity to honor Susan’s memory and offer condolences to her loved ones.
