Ms. Susan Jane Clarke, age 71, of the Union Hill community of Somerville, Alabama passed away at Huntsville Hospital on August 20, 2023. Ms. Clarke was born on August 10, 1952 to Robert Holmen Manus and Josie Mae Walington Manus in Illinois. She was married to Albert Edward Clarke, who passed away June, 2018. Susan had earned her associate’s degree and worked as a Nurse’s Aide in the Illinois area hospitals and nursing homes. Susan was an avid reader and enjoyed sewing and crafting.
Family members left behind to cherish memories of Susan are: sons, Robert E. Clarke, Joseph P. Clarke, Russell L. Clarke and Christopher R. Clarke; brothers, Charles Manus (Connie), Ricky Manus and Gary Manus (Annette); sisters, Josie Burford and Penny Goheen (John); seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Edward Clark; and her parents, Robert and Josie Mae Manus.
Family will receive friends and extended family for Ms. Clark’s visitation on Monday, August 28 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel. The visitation will be between 12:00 noon and 2:00 p.m. Interment will be in the Arab Memorial Cemetery.
