Susan Eells Shaffer, age 70, of Lawrenceburg, TN passed away Saturday, April 19, 2025, at TriStar Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, TN. She was a native of Lawrenceburg, TN, retired teacher from the Lawrence County School System, and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Lawrenceburg where she played the organ for years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ulic and Ruth Gray Eells; one brother, Rex Eells; and one sister, Wanda Cosper.
She is survived by her husband. Mike Shaffer of Ethridge, TN; one son, Jayme Niedergeses of Lawrenceburg, TN; one daughter, Jennifer Lynn Inman of Lawrenceburg, TN; and several grandchildren.
Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. Funeral Mass will be conducted at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Lawrenceburg at 10:00 AM Thursday, April 24, 2025, with Father Andrew Forsythe officiating. Interment will follow at Ethridge Masonic Cemetery in Ethridge, TN. The family suggests memorials be made to Sacred Heart Catholic School.
