Funeral services for Susan Buchanan Harris age 65, of Ashland will be held on Monday December 18, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. at Olive Branch Baptist Church with Rev. Richie Farrow officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Methodist Church Cemetery.
Ms. Harris passed away on December 13, 2023 at her residence. She was a native of Clay County and a graduate of Lineville High School Class of 1976. Susan was a former resident of Talladega and Oxford but had lived most of her life in Clay County. She had worked for several years with Ace Products in Lineville and for over 18 as a Financial Specialist with Lineville Health and Rehabilitation Center. She enjoyed spending time at the beach, reading, going to Thrift stores and shopping, but her greatest joy was the time she spent with her grandchildren and family. Susan was a member of Bowden Grove Baptist Church but had recently been attending Olive Branch Baptist Church.
She is survived by one daughter, Brooke Seals of Anniston, two sons. Joshua Seals (Bethany) of Lineville and Ryan Seals (Winter) of Ashland, her seven grandchildren, Braden, Andrew, Addyson, Kynlee, Curtis, Gracie and Olivia, and one sister, Elaine Watts (Mike) of Lineville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Curtis and Ruth Patterson Buchanan, her sister Beth Buchanan, her brother, Larry Paul Buchanan, and her longtime companion, Kenneth Lee Lockard.
Pallbearers will be Randy Watts, Neil Watts, Cole Watts, Jason Buchanan, Braden Seals and Andrew Seals.
The family will receive friends at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville on Sunday, December 17, 2023 from 5:30 until 8:00 P.M. and until one hour prior to service time on Monday. She will lie in state at the church for one hour.
