Susan Barrett, beloved mother, daughter, and educator, passed away unexpectedly on April 30, 2025, at the age of 69. Born on November 19, 1955, Susan dedicated her life to teaching, serving as an educator for over 35 years. She was deeply loved by everyone who knew her, and her impact will be felt for generations to come.
She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Barrett of Brandon, Mississippi; her mother, Sue Castleberry of Iuka, Mississippi; her brother, John Castleberry (Shelia); her nephew, Jay Castleberry; and her great-nephew, Tate Castleberry, all of Iuka. She was preceded in death by her son, Kenneth Barrett, and her father, Ted Castleberry.
Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka, MS is entrusted with the arrangements. Services will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at Iuka Methodist Church. Visitation will take place from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m, officiated by Rev. Dallas Culver. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jay Castleberry, Kenneth Lewis, Benny McClung, Cliff Daniel, Phillip Cutshall, and Carter Haines.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Susan’s memory, an organization dear to her heart.
Susan’s life was a blessing, her memory a treasure. She was loved beyond words and will be missed beyond measure.
