THE SHOALS – It has been a long time coming. But people in The Shoals will soon be purchasing their beer and liquor on Sundays, just like in the big cities. Many say it’s been worth the wait, lots of folks also think that Sunday sales is a bad idea.

The Alabama Legislature passed the Sunday sales law at the end of the last legislative session. And governor Kay Ivy signed the bill into law. The only thing that remained, was for the respective City Councils in Tuscumbia, Muscle Shoals, Littleville, Florence and Sheffield to give their vote. Tuscumbia and Muscle Shoals approved the legislation Monday night. The other city councils are expected to sign-off on the law at their council meetings next week.
