Summer Solos To Feature Up-And-Coming Artists During the W.C. Handy Music Festival

La’Qua Hill

FLORENCE-Florence/Lauderdale Tourism and Muscle Shoals National Heritage Area will present three Summer Solos during the W.C. Handy Music Festival.  The entertainment will feature solo shows by up-and-coming artists La’Qua Hill, Tosha Hill, and Daniel Green. Each performance is free to the public and will be held in the Florence/Lauderdale Tourism Visitor Center Gallery.

 

La’Qua Hill is a singer-songwriter and producer from Shoals area. He was born in Russellville and has been writing music for seven years. In 2017 he released an EP called “Whatever May Come,” and one this year called “Satisfied”. Hill plans to release a full length album later this year, as well as produce and write for other acts. His music has been described as “pop with a strong R&B flavor”. He will perform on Saturday, July 21 at 11:00 a.m.

Tosha Hill

Tosha Hill is a folk artist from Florence. She began her music career at a young age, playing at local churches and state fairs, and has since made a name for herself out of town and out of state. Hill frequents Nashville where she has played alongside many established artists including John Oates, with whom she also wrote, recorded, and performed “You Let Me Get Away”. Tosha will be performing on Monday, July 23 at 11:30 a.m.

Daniel Green

 

Daniel Green is an artist from Citronelle, Alabama, and will be attending UNA as a freshman in the fall. He sings and plays guitar in addition to several other instruments, and has been performing at shows in the Citronelle area for five years. Green has also played in Birmingham, at Shrimp Fest in Gulf Shores, and once opened at the Dixie Stampede in Gatlinburg. He will be singing country music and playing guitar on Monday, July 23 at 2:00.
