Sue Rhodes Essary – Obituary

Sue Rhodes Essary was born in Chester County, Tennessee the daughter of the late Alfred Arlington and Sarah Mae Peddy Rhodes. She graduated from Chester County High School and later attended Draughn’s Business College in Memphis. In 1947 she was married to Hershel Essary and they made their home in Henderson. Mrs. Essary owned and operated Essary Florist for the last fifty three years. She was a member of the Professional Business Women’s Association, serving as President; the West Tennessee Florist Association, serving as President and Secretary, and an active member of the Chester County Community and the First Baptist Church in Henderson.

Mrs. Essary departed this life on October 23, 2013 in Memphis, Tennessee.

She is survived by four daughters, Judy Austin and husband Mike of Atlanta , Georgia, Linda Hutcherson of Henderson, Joy Burns and husband Tony of Henderson, Betty Porter and husband Jimmy of Henderson, a brother, Keith Rhodes and wife Jill of Aurora, IN; five grandchildren, Jim Austin and wife Cathy, Jill Barr and husband Tony, Clay Porter and wife Julie, Kevin Porter, Macy Foster and husband Cody; eight great grandchildren, Taylor Patterson, Dillon Patterson, Zach Austin, Jessica Barr, Callan Austin, Brent Austin, Chloe Foster and Clayton Porter.

Mrs. Essary was preceded in death by her husband Hershel Essary on March 27, 2007.
