Sue M. McDaniel, age 99 of Woodbury, TN passed away on August 1, 2021. She was born in Pocahontas, MS to the late Herman Boyd Miles and Clydella Cobb Miles. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husbands, Clarence Boyer and Sidney McDaniel, 6 sisters, and 1 brother.

Mrs. McDaniel is survived by her daughter, Barbara Corry and husband Steve; sons, retired Brigadier General Danny McDaniel and wife Linda and Terrell McDaniel and wife Janni; grandchildren, Lisa Konecny and husband Jim, Michael Prather and wife Tommi, Daniel Prather and wife Grace, Hagen Barber, Colin McDaniel and wife Lindsey, Isaiah McDaniel, and Honour McDaniel; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Whether it was singing in the choir, writing a weekly devotional for a local nursing home, or teaching a Sunday School class, Mrs. McDaniel loved being in, and contributing to, a community of fellow believers.  As a very young lady, she and a sister played music and sang on the radio.  Mrs. McDaniel played the mandolin, piano, and harmonica.

Before beginning many years in bookkeeping at Kemper Insurance, she also served as a school crossing guard and worked in the school lunchroom as cashier.  Her family and church always came first. One of her many favorite Bible verses was, “To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.” Micah 6:8

In lieu of flowers, please contribute to the Brandon (MS) Baptist Church, the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, or a local animal shelter of your choice.

A Celebration of Life service will be held in Brandon, MS at a later date.
