Steven James King, age 19, of Vernon, AL passed away Saturday, August 31, 2019 at UAB Medical Center in Birmingham, AL.  Funeral services will be held at Vernon Church of Christ at 5:00pm with burial to follow in Wofford Cemetery.  The date of the funeral service is pending and will be announced at a later time.  Mr. Lonnie Ingram and Mr. Derek Porter to officiate.  Visitation will be held at the church prior to the funeral service from 2:00pm until 5:00pm.

 

In lieu of flowers, that family has requested donations be made to the Winfield Touchdown Club(Steven King Memorials) at Citizens Bank, P.O. Box 550, Winfield, AL 35594.

 

Pallbearers: Drew Blackburn, Jamiel Hisbon, Jackson Elkins, Hayden Motes, Brenton Weeks, and John Ross Johnson.

Honorary Pallbearers: Winfield City High School Football and Coaches and Class of 2018

 

Steven was born on March 30, 2000 in Winfield, AL to the late Timothy Aaron King and Sunshine Marie Benefield.  He was a 2018 graduate of Winfield City High School and had attended Bevil State Community College.  Steven played football at Winfield City Schools and worked for Robert Hendrix Tile.  He was an avid hunter, loved riding bulls, spending time outdoors, fishing, horses, and doing mechanic work.  Steven also loved spending time with his Papa.  He was very family oriented.  Steven was a member of Mt. Olive Church of Christ.
