FLORENCE-Summer Reading 2019 at Florence-Lauderdale Public Library is off to a great start. The weekly summer programs for kids, teens, and adults start this week, and FLPL can’t wait to see you.
Below are a few more events happening in the next two weeks!
Storytime with Belle
Thursday, June 6, 2:30 pm
Get ready for the Gingerbread Players’ upcoming production of Beauty and the Beast with this special storytime with Belle. Everyone’s favorite book-loving inventor’s daughter will share a few of her favorite stories with kids and families. Beauty and the Beast will be performed at Shoals Community Theatre June 13-16 and June 21 & 22.
Meet & Greet with Derek Wilson
Friday, June 7, 5:30-7:00 pm
Come meet Derek Wilson, the new Executive Director of Florence-Lauderdale Public Library! Join us in welcoming Derek to the community and to FLPL. The meet & greet will be held in the Colonnade area of the library. Light refreshments will be served.
Steve Trash Science Premiere
Saturday, June 15, 9:30 am
Join FLPL and Steve Trash for the WORLD PREMIERE of Steve’s new show, Steve Trash Science! On Saturday, June 15, at 9:30am, come to the Youth Services area of the library, where the Shoals’ own TV star—Steve Trash—will introduce his new show, which we’ll watch live on Alabama Public Television at 10:00 am. Steve will also sign autographs, take pictures, and maybe perform a magic trick or two! He’ll also have copies of his newly re-released book, The Magic of Ecology, available for sale ($10 each). Since this is Saturday-morning TV time, families can feel free to come in pajamas!
