Mr. Steve "Pop" Epperson Mr. Steve “Pop” Epperson, age 68, passed away early Monday in Jackson. He was born March 5, 1957 in Johnson City, TN to the late James and Arlie Douglas Epperson. He was a machinist for over 20 years at Martin Machine and a mechanic. He was a good father and husband and he loved gardening, watching his hummingbirds, classic rock and roll music, and playing with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Judy Epperson; his son, Mark Burton (Kelly); four daughters, Carrie Brown-Pratt (John), Karen Seaton (Shannon), Connie Mathis (Steve), and Kaylen Redding (Andrew); two brothers, Roger Beaman (Sherry) and Terry Epperson (the late Linda); and 10 grandchildren, Hayley Falls (Jonathan), Jacob Seaton, Taylor Pratt, Sydney Conrad (Chestin), Cody Burton (Corina), Conner Pratt, Luke Burton, Hannah, Henslee, and Harper Redding.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10 AM, Wednesday, July 9, 2025, in the chapel of Pafford Funeral Home in Lexington. Interment will follow in New Hope Methodist Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, 11 AM – 8 PM and on Wednesday, 8 – 10 AM.
