Steve Coleman Dorris age 75 of Greenbrier passed away Monday, October 27th in Centennial Medical Center. Funeral Services will be held in the Chapel of Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Greenbrier Thursday, November 6, 2025 at 12 PM. Burial will be in Springfield Memorial Gardens following guest speakers and comments by Pastor Charlene Sullivan’s. Serving as pallbearers are Jack Beckford, John Beckford, David Manuel, Rusty Riddle, Rob Dorris, Terry Dorris, Michael Dorris and Wyatt Gravitt with honorary pallbearers David Roettger, Gary Mark Thresher, Elaine Dorris, Marlin Shelton and David Haynes. The family will receive friends 3 pm until 8 pm on Wednesday, November 5th and again on Thursday, November 6th from 10 am until hour of service at 12 pm.
Steve was born May 24,1950 in Nashville, TN to the late William Leonard Dorris and Cleo Delsey Connor. He was preceded in death by his brother, William R. “Billy” Dorris.
Steve was a cancer survivor, world traveler, passionate runner, animal lover, cattle farmer, hardworker, Army paratrooper, and a sweet, kind fellow! Steve was a beloved son, brother, teacher and coach serving in several schools in Robertson County but spent the majority of his career as a PE Coach, Math Teacher, Wrestling and Cross Country Coach at Greenbrier. He was a valued member of Wartrace Methodist Church.
He is survived by sisters, Diann Dorris (Jack Beckford) and Donna Ruth Shelton (Marlin) and a large extended family.
