Steve Anthony Britton Steve Anthony Britton, aged 70, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 31st, 2025, at Athens Limestone Hospital. Born on April 26th, 1954, in Athens, Steve was the beloved son of Leamon Calvin Britton and Willie Dean “Deanie” Pressnell Britton.

Steve leaves behind a loving family who cherish his memory, Ramona Britton of Rogersville; children Steven Ryne Britton, of Athens, Hannah Britton Crumbley (Chase), of Rogersville, and Trent Andrew Britton (Robbie Pettus), of Florence; granddaughters Merri Britton Crumbley and Mallory Blair Crumbley; sisters Pam Christopher (Cliff), of Athens and LeaAnn McBay (Blake), of Rogersville; brother Rodney Britton (Tammy), of Athens; brother-in-law Jimmy Gilliam; and numerous nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, sister Merri Beth Gilliam, and parents-in-law Delano and Doris Jean Miller.

A memorial service to celebrate Steve’s life will be held on Saturday, April 5th, at 4:00 pm at First Baptist Church of Rogersville. The service will be officiated by Tim Anderson, Jimmy Gilliam, Danny Anderson, and Rodney Britton. Friends and family are invited to gather for visitation at the church from 2:00 to 4:00 PM on the same day.

Steve Britton was a remarkable man who left an indelible mark on those who knew him. He had a passion for sports and devoted 35 years to coaching in Limestone County, fostering the talents of countless students and players. A fervent fan of Alabama sports and an avid golfer, Steve’s enthusiasm was infectious.

His family was his pride and joy, and he cherished the time spent with his granddaughters and children, who were the light of his life. Those who had the privilege to know and love Steve will remember him fondly and miss him dearly.
Steve’s legacy of kindness, dedication, and love will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Research Hospital in Steve’s honor.
