Dr. Stephen Gregory Gargus, DMD, 63, of Huntsville passed away peacefully in his sleep on the morning of June 18, 2019.
Stephen was born on January 11, 1956, in Gadsden Alabama. He attended the University of Alabama and received a bachelor’s degree in microbiology, and the University of Alabama in Birmingham where he received his Doctorate degree in Dentistry. Stephen then moved to Florida where practiced Dentistry until he retired. Stephen moved home to Huntsville to care for his father and mother, where he remained until his passing.
Stephen is survived by his mother, Mary Anne Gargus; his dog, Buster; his nieces and nephew, Emma Anne Kimbrough and her husband, Bartlett Kimbrough and their daughter, Landers Anne, Alexandra Marino and her husband, Brandon Marino, and John Stinson, and Katherine Stinson; his brother-in-law, Jay Stinson and his wife, Susan Stinson; his cousins, Tina Herring and her husband, Lee Herring, and daughter, Hallie, Heather Staton and her husband, Tim Staton, and their daughters, McKenzie and Ava, Matt Elkins, Marc Elkins and his daughters, Evie and Elise, Tracie Morris and her husband, Barry Morris and daughters, Bailey Joy and Gracie, Charlie Gargus and his daughter, Elizabeth, Mitch Gargus, and Michelle Gargus, uncles, Bill Langford, Bobby Gargus, and Ken Elkins; aunts, Joy Morrow and Joyce Gargus; and numerous beloved friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Ray Gargus; his sister, Beverly Gargus Stinson; his aunts, Brenda Elkins, Marie Langford, and Betty Gargus; and uncle, Johnny Gargus.
Stephen wanted everyone to know that he had lived a good life.
A graveside service will be held at Maple Hill Cemetery on June 21, 2019 at 10:00.
