Stephanie Anne Connor, 78, of Huntsville, passed away on Saturday. She was born in Lima, Ohio, to John Albert and Helen Granger Connor. Stephanie is survived by her daughter, Helen Cecilia Bishop; son, Martin David Bishop; and two grandsons, Dylan Bishop and Ryan Bishop, all of Huntsville; two sisters, Carolyn Connor Moody of Chicago, IL, and Lavonne Jean (Bonnie) Spivey of Candler, NC, and one brother, Damien (Butch) Connor and wife, Kathy, of Denver, CO.
Stephanie was a US Air Force veteran. She worked at various jobs including accounting, office administration, and business management. She was the founder and proprietor of Connor’s Perfect Cleaning, providing janitorial services to several homes and offices. She was well-known in the Huntsville Community for her work with Alcoholics Anonymous in countering alcohol and drug abuse.
Stephanie was a dedicated runner and participated in many 5K, 10K, and marathon runs, even into her mid-70s. She is fondly remembered by the staff of Sterling Travel Agency as a dedicated worker and good friend. Her family is grateful to Lynn Tenneson as well as Hospice of North Alabama, and caretakers, Amy Hunter and Sadie Green, for the care provided to Stephanie in her final days.
Visitation will be from 12 Noon to 1:00 p.m. Thursday at Laughlin Service Funeral Home followed by a celebration of her life, Rev. Henry Everitt presiding. Burial will be at Maple Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the National Alliance for Mental Illness of Huntsville (NAMIH) or Hospice of North Alabama.
