review-list-restaurant-logoI have seen several ads on Facebook for a place called “Stell’s Sports Grille” but I didn’t really think that much about it. About two weeks ago I was driving on U.S. 43 near the intersection of U.S. 72, when I saw  Stell’s Sports Grille  located behind Hardee’s in the Mike’s Merchandise strip mall. I was hungry so I decided to stop.
Walking into the restaurant I was surprised. It was bigger than I expected. It was well illuminated and clean. There were several tables to choose from. The one thing I liked about the tables were that they were well spaced apart not cramped. I hate going into a restaurant where the tables are too close together. There is a bar side of the restaurant that you can get to by walking through a doorway. I stuck my head in the bar and saw that there were tables for eating as well as a bar to enjoy adult beverages.
I wanted food so I sat on the food side. The waitress came to my table promptly. Looking over the menu, there was a selection of appetizers as well as Chicken fingers, Wings, and Burgers. For an appetizer I think I will have the Cheese Stick Planks, imagine that. I ordered the Chicken Finger Basket for the main dish. The Cheese Sticks came first. They are plank shaped. The sauce that came with it was more of a Spaghetti Sauce with just a hint of sweetness to it. I liked it.

The Chicken Finger Basket came. There was 6 big Chicken Fingers. But what I didn’t expect was fries. You youngsters may not remember Quincy’s Steakhouse being in Muscle Shoals, but they had those big, thick steak fries. These are the kind of fries that Stell’s Sports Grill has. I got Honey Mustard for my Chicken Fingers. I have to tell you that the Fingers were juicy and just awesome.

The menu shows that they have homemade Banana Pudding and I love Banana Pudding. However, after eating the Cheese Sticks and Chicken Finger Basket I couldn’t handle desert. Since the initial visit, I have been back twice more. The food is just as good as the first time. The last time I went, I had the Fried Pickles along with my Cheese Sticks. They were good also. I still have not tried the Banana Pudding  but I am going to.

If you are out around the intersection of U.S. 43 and 72 stop in at Stell’s Sports Grille and give them a try. I give it 4 Cheese Sticks out of 5.
