Stella Harris, age 89, Double Springs, AL. passed away Sunday September 2, 2012. Her visitation will be held on Wednesday Seotember 5, 2012 at the First Baptist Church in Double Springs, Al. from 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM, with her service at 3:00 PM with Rev. Phillip Twilley and Rev. Bill Frank Wilson officiating. Burial will follow at Double Springs Memorial Cemetery. Mrs. Harris is survived by her children, Betty (Clovis) White, Bobbie (Hobby) Walker and Jannie (George) Lester; sisters, Vella Mae Falls, Della Ree (James) Tubbs, Dean Williams, Elsie (Don) Layton; brother in law, Doyle (Kathleen) Harris; grandchildren, Lisa Gilbreath, Shelia (Aubrey) Moore, Jon (Beth) Gilbreath, Larry (Alana) White; step grandchildren, Todd Walker and Tanya Sanders; 12 great grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Andrew and Angelina Lizzie Whisenhunt; husband, James “Sam” Harris; sister, Ella Jayne Montgomery; and brother, Clarence Whisenhunt. Pinkard Funeral Home, Haleyville is directing.
