Stella Beatrice Grissom, age 87, of Tuscumbia, Alabama, died, Friday, September 1, 2017. The visitation will be Sunday, Sept 3rd from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral will be Monday, Sept 4th at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Joel Hand will be officiating. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Tuscumbia.
She was a native of Colbert County, a member at Calvery Missionary Baptist Church and was retired from Helen Keller Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James L. Grissom; son, Kenneth Wayne Grissom; parents, William and Willie Lou Davis, and numerous siblings.
Survivors include her sons; Bronnie Eugene Grissom (Diane) and Danny Lester Grissom (Pam); daughters, Brenda Lindsey, Dora Ricketts (Devaughn), Judy Horton (James), SaDonna Lambert (Danny), Sarah Jolly (Linous); brother, Walter Davis, twenty-one grandchildren and forty-one great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Timothy Cunningham, Frankie Cunningham, Daniel Cunningham, Brandon King, Justin King, Shane Grissom, Bronnie Wayne Grissom, Dale Fredrick Jr., Cody Shackelford, Jamie Grissom, and Jason Roberts.
The family wishes to thank Kindred Hospice and Drs. Andre Taylor and Lynn Ridgeway.
