Stanley Wins Mayoral Race In Sheffield.. Florence Mayoral Race Undecided

THE SHOALS-In the two mayoral races in the Shoals one is too close to call and the other is a deceive win.

The Florence Mayor’s race between Andy Betterton and incumbent Steve Holt is too close to call and will come down to the provisional ballots which will be counted next Tuesday.

The vote count on Tuesday night was Betterton with 50.09% and Holt with 49.9%.  The difference of 11 votes will be decided on October 13 at noon after the official ballot count and the counting pf provisional ballots.

In the runoff race for Sheffield Mayor Steve Stanley won the day and  took the race with 735 votes,  or52.4% of the vote defeating David Johnson by 68 votes.  Johnson earned 667 votes, or 47.6% of the vote.
